This bill contains a lot of goodies for consumers, and a lot more to hurt your wallet than just the usual protections.
In particular, the omnibus bill includes $9 billion to extend unemployment benefits for six months.
It also allows companies to offer up to a one-year contract to new hires, which would cost the average worker $15,000 per year, according to a new study from the Economic Policy Institute.
In addition, the bill provides $6 billion for states and localities to reduce or eliminate tax credits and refundable tax credits.
But, most important, it provides an additional $2 billion for the National Institute of Health, which includes $1 billion for research on how vaccines are used to prevent pandemic illness.
